What this course is
You will calculate a chart with an ephemeris and a table of houses before you are allowed near software — not out of nostalgia, but because a chart you built by hand is a chart you understand. From there: dignity, aspect, house, sect, and the disciplined judgement that separates astrology from personality-quiz astrology.
What you will be able to do
- Cast an accurate natal chart by hand from an ephemeris
- Judge essential and accidental dignity without a cheat sheet
- Read a chart as one shape before reading any single placement
- Apply sect — the distinction that reorganises everything
- Time events with profections and basic directions
- Write a coherent 20-page delineation
The whole path

Your teacher
Dr Ilias Konstantinou
Traditional astrologer · Translator of Hellenistic sources
Ilias came to astrology through classics, translating Vettius Valens before he ever cast a chart. He teaches calculation by hand first, on the argument that software users who cannot check their own work eventually get badly lost.
Before you enrol
Frequently asked
For the first module, yes. After that you may use software — and you will use it far better for having done it once the long way.
Traditional method, taught honestly, with an appendix on where the modern planets fit if you want them.
It is arithmetic — addition, subtraction and one interpolation. Lesson 4 walks through it very slowly.

Rigorous and warm
Verified purchaseHe is exacting but never condescending. Hand-calculation was frightening for one evening and then fine.

Sect changed everything
Verified purchaseTwelve years of modern astrology and Module III genuinely reorganised how I read.
