Coarse Atlantic sea salt with rue, rosemary, bay and hyssop — the old European cleansing herbs rather than the fashionable ones. Bracing rather than soothing, and deliberately so.

- Rue is a strong abortifacient — the rue-free blend exists for this reason and is free of charge
- Rue is photosensitising; do not sunbathe on the same day

- Patch-test if you have any history of contact dermatitis
Practice
After a hard week
This is not a relaxing bath and it is not meant to be. Ten to fifteen minutes, not twenty. Rinse in cool water at the end and then pull the plug while you are still in the bath, if that image is useful to you — a great many people find that it is.
