The piece
A matched pair of hand-thrown stoneware vessels in a black satin glaze, one for salt and one for water, with fitted lids that actually seal. Fired to 1,280 °C so neither will craze or leach.
Practice
The simplest cleansing there is
Three pinches of salt into the water. Say what the boundary is for out loud — actually out loud, not in your head. Walk the edge of the space anticlockwise. That is the whole rite; anything more elaborate is decoration on top of it.
